hCG-R3: Day 16/VLCD: Day 13 (224.8)

Up 2.2 lbs.

I think its mostly water gain.

I didn't drink enough water yesterday.

For lunch I had chicken, tomatoes, pickles, an apple and a grissini.
For dinner I had boneless Buffalo Wings with classic sauce and celery.

My son James took me to Applebee's for dinner.

Friday, July 18, 2008

hCG-R3: Day 15/VLCD: Day 12 (222.6)

Down 1.6 lbs.

That's 13.6 lbs in 12 days.

I was very hungry most of the day yesterday so I ate a few cookies.

Still lost though! Go figure!

Lunch was steak, tomatoes, cucumber, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner was chicken, pickles, an orange and a grissini.

hCG-R3: Day 14/VLCD: Day 11 (224.2)

Lost 0.6 lbs.

The sunburn is pretty much healed.

For lunch I had chicken, tomatoes, pickles, an apple and a grissini.
For dinner I had steak, asparagus, an orange and a grissini.

hCG-R3: Day 13/VLCD: Day 10 (224.8)

Dropped a pound.

Did pretty good yesterday.

Lunch was chicken, tomato, pickles, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner was chicken, broccoli, an orange and a grissini.

hCG-R3: Day 12/VLCD: Day 9 (225.8)

No loss today.

I expect that with the sunburn and stuff.

For lunch I had chicken, tomatoes, an orange and a grissini.
Dinner was chicken, asaragus, an orange and a grissini.

hCG-R3: Day 11/VLCD: Day 8 (225.8)

Still lost 0.4 lbs.

I did get a pretty good sunburn, plus food poisoning and I fell and hurt my neck!
Missed work today.

I did cheat a little yesterday.
I had some beef jerky and grapes.

For lunch it was chicken, pickles, an orange.
Dinner was chicken, salad, an orange and a grissini.

hCG-R3: Day 10/VLCD: Day 7 (226.2)

Down a pound in the right direction.

We are going boating today on Lake Washington and I fully expect to get a sunburn which more than likely will mean water retention.

For lunch it was chicken, pickles, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner I had steak, salad, an orange and a grissini.

Wednesday, July 16, 2008

hCG-R3: Day 9/VLCD: Day 6 (227.2)

Lost 0.8 lbs. That's 9.0 lbs after loading in 6 days.

For lunch I had chicken, pickles, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner I had lean hamburger, salad with salsa, an orange and a grissini.

For dessert the family had smores. I cheated and had one marshmallow.

I drank 72 oz of water. That’s down from my normal intake of over 100 oz.

hCG-R3: Day 8/VLCD: Day 5 (228.0)

Up 1.6 lbs. I think that my body has probably rebounded from all the water loss.

I did not cheat, I am not concerned.

For lunch I had chicken, tomatoes and cucumber, an apple and a grissini.
For dinner I had steak, asparagus, an orange and a grissini.

Thursday, July 10, 2008

hCG-R3: Day 7/VLCD: Day 4 (226.4)

I lost exactly one pound. That's 9.8 lbs lost in 3 days! Mostly water loss but still good!
I had no problems with hunger other than I ate dinner later than my body wanted.

I drank about 160 oz of water and about 40 oz of coffee.

Yesterday for lunch I had baked chicken, cucumber, an apple and a grissini.
For dinner I had sautéed chicken, pickles, an orange and a grissini.

So nice to be back on track!

Wednesday, July 9, 2008

hCG-R3: Day 6/VLCD: Day 3 (227.4)

I dropped 4.8 lbs after the first VLCD day and 4.0 lbs after the second. That's 8.8 lbs in two days! This is likely due to losing water weight.

Yesterday I drank 148 oz. plus about 52 oz of coffee. Guess what? I spent a lot of time in the bathroom! The funny thing is, I am only waking up once at night to relieve myself. If I drank just the 64 oz minimum I would probably wake up 2 or 3 times. Interesting!

For lunch I had baked chicken, a small cucumber, tomatoes, an apple and a grissini.
For dinner I had baked shrimp, mashed cauliflower, an orange and a grissini.

The mashed cauliflower is great because it tastes a lot like mashed potatoes and is only 7 calories per ounce! Remember to weigh the cauliflower raw and then reweigh after cooking and mashing to set portion size correctly. Tim Jr. advises not to eat it cold because it's not so good cold! Next time I'm going to press a clove of fresh garlic to see if that makes it even better! The baked shrimp was marinated in Franks Red Hot Sauce and then baked on a stone and was very good! I have more shrimp marinating for this weekend!

Tomorrow night we have a couple of people coming over to mix there first vial of hCG.
Tammy and I will be making them Chicken Taco Salad for dinner. We bake the chicken with Carne Asada seasoning and then chop it finely with the food chopper. Over lettuce with a little fresh salsa! Good stuff!

I am very excited to be back on the program and losing weight again!

hCG-R3: Day 5/VLCD: Day 2 (231.4)

Hello All! I know I haven't posted in a month but I promise to reform myself.

I started my third round of phase 2 on Independence Day and the VLCD yesterday and I'm very excited to be back on the hCG and the VLCD again!

I weighed 236.2 lbs after loading and after not drinking hardly any water over the weekend.
Yesterday I drank at least 168 oz of water and I knew I would drop a lot of water. It ends up that I dropped 4.8 oz of mostly water! I did great yesterday with the VLCD with very little abnormal hunger. I expect today to be even better.

I gained 18.2 lbs while on Phase 3, Phase 4 and loading. Not good at all.

I am going to be very religious with the VLCD and water this round.

Yesterday for lunch I had baked chicken, tomatoes, cucumber, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner I had grilled chicken, onions, pickles, an orange and a grissini.

I am taking 200 iu's of hCG and after the first week, I will be skipping Sundays and Wednesdays.

The last round I had a real problem with hunger and cravings. I think that’s because I went immune after the first round and only took a three week break. This time I took a full 6 week break and loaded well. I am very determined to be successful this round!

My brothers Dan and Nolan and my wife Tammy have all done wonderfully and they are my role models for doing it right and being consistent!

Phase 3.2 Day 17: Unknown

I forgot to weigh this morning.

I was in a rush to catch the train and I had to iron a pair of slacks!

I only drank about 60 oz of water yesterday.

Did pretty good staying on Phase 3 today.

Wednesday, June 4, 2008

Phase 3.2 Day 15: 223.0 lbs

Hello Again! Sorry I have not posted in awhile.

I am two weeks into my second Phase 3 break and am going to take the full 6 week break this time. 3 weeks on Phase 3 and 3 weeks on Phase 4.
That will mean that I should begin loading on July 2nd.

I have had a hard time drinking the minimum water.

Yesterday I drank 144 oz! Maybe a little overboard, but I think my body needed it.

I will really try to get in the habit of posting everyday.

Just today I remembered that I should be eating breakfast!
I did not eat breakfasts before or during the hCG Diet and it just hadn't crossed my mind.

I know that will help with my cravings just before lunch.

Tammy is still going strong and has lost almost 50 lbs!
She is losing almost .5 pound average per day.

My brother Dan is down to 190.8 lbs! That's a loss of 67.7 lbs! Go Dan!
Check out his Blog! (Link to the right)

hCG-R2 Day 61: VLCD-R2 Day 58/220.8 lbs

Hi all. I am sorry that I have not posted much this round.

My brother Dan keeps reminding me but I just have not made it a priority.

I have had a very hard time staying on the VLCD this round.

I stopped injections on Saturday and am going to take a break for at least 3 weeks.

I have lost only about 7 pounds on this round and have been dissappointed with my inability to stay on the VLCD.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 47: VLCD-R2 Day 44/220.8 lbs

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days.

I haven't done well with drinking my water the last 4 days.

I have made it further this round but have had much more of a problem with staying on the 500 calorie diet and drinking the required water.

I have been hovering between 218 and 221 for the last couple of weeks.
I was at 220 for years so its possible that body is having a hard time getting through this remembered weight. I definately have lost inches during this time.

Tammy bought me size 36" waist jeans while I was on phase 3 and they are now much more loose than they were. I can also wear size large shirts! Haven't been there in 10 to 15 years!

Tammy is on day 96 without going immune.

If she does go immune, we will both take a 6 week break.

Yesterday for lunch I had chicken, tomatoes, an orange and a grissini.
Dinner was beef, salad, an apple and a grissini.

Friday, May 2, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 43: VLCD-R2 Day 40/221.0 lbs

I think that I should have taken 6 weeks for phase 3 instead of just 3 weeks.

I have hovered arount 220 lbs for 40 days. The next break will be for 6 weeks.

I guess I should start thinking about that soon.

Saturday, April 26, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 37: VLCD-R2/218.0 lbs

Down -1.4 lbs.

I did a half of an Apple Day yesterday and did drink my required water.

I was half way through the day before I reread the Apple day instructions an found out that on an apple day, you are not supposed to drink very much water. By that time I had already had 3-24 oz glasses of water.

I had 3 apples for lunch.
For dinner last night, I had an Alcapulco Chicken Salad from Jack in the box. I just used the limes included for dressing.

Friday, April 25, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 36: VLCD-R2 Day 33/219.4 lbs

Down -0.6 lbs since Wednesday.

Tammy suggested that I do an apple day to try and break this impass.

I am going to try that today.

Yesterday for lunch was chicken w/ Greek seasoning, tomatoes and an orange. Forgot the grissini.
Dinner was Chicken Breast rolled in grissini crumbs and lightly seasoned with salt and pepper (incredible!), salad and an apple.

I have drank over 100 oz of water the last three days. I am going to really try to drink the correct amount of water over the weekend.

Wednesday, April 23, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 34: VLCD-R2 Day 31/220.0 lbs

Sorry I haven't posted since Friday.

I did not do great over the weekend.

I lost -0.2 lbs since Friday.

This second round has been more difficult to stay faithful and drink the required water.

Friday, April 18, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 29: VLCD-R2 Day 26

220.2 lbs up +0.6 lbs from Tuesday.

Not sure what's up.

Yesterday I did pretty good on eating and water.

We'll see what the weekend holds.

Yesterday lunch was chicken, celery, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner was cod, Cauliflower, an apple and a grissini.

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 26: VLCD-R2 Day 23

219.6 lbs (-1.0) TWL (-35.0)

I broke the 220 lb barrier!

For lunch I had Chicken, Cabbage soup, a small grapefruit and a grissini.

Last night we had my Mom over for dinner.
We had cod, salad, an apple and a grissini.
(Okay, we also had a small spoon of chocolate mousse that my son Tim Jr made!)

Our church is having a bunch of fundraisers to raise money for a Back to School Blitz event in August and one of the fundraisers is a dessert night. Tim Jr is sponsering a table himself and wanted to try making the chocolate mousse ahead of time. It was delicious!
He said it will be better next time he makes it!

Saturday, April 12, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 23: VLCD-R2 Day 20

220.4 lbs (-0.2 lbs) TWL= -31.4

Sorry I didn't blog yesterday.

I had gone up a pound so the loss above is actually a two day culmination.

I was hungry on Thurday and Friday due to two days in a row off of the hCG.

Yesterday for lunch it was chicken, cucumber, and an apple.
For dinner it was taco salad, an apple and a grissini.

Thursday, April 10, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 21: VLCD-R2 Day 18

220.6 lbs. (-0.8) Total Weight Loss (TWL) -31.2
Fasting blood sugar: 87

No injection yesterday. Tammy and I are attempting to skip two injections per week to hold off immunity. We are skipping Sundays and Wednesdays.

No injection today. I forgot to take my injection this morning!

I drank over 100 oz. of water.

Lunch was chicken, cabbage soup, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner was shrimp, asparagus, an orange, and a grissini.

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 20: VLCD-R2 Day 17

221.4 lbs.

Back down to my lowest point. (At least according to my scale!)

I have been doing well with drinking my water this week.

Yesterday for lunch I had chicken, cucumbers and tomatoes, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner was a lean sirloin hamburger patty, lettuce and tomato, an orange and a grissini.

I forgot to post yesterday.

Monday, April 7, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 18: VLCD-R2 Day 15

224.0 lbs!

I am starting to not trust this scale!

I went from 221.4 to 224.0 over night.

One contributing factor is that this morning I weighed at 5:30 am and over the weekend I weighed at around 9:30 am.

Aslo, Friday and Saturday I drank at lease 120 oz of water and Sunday I only drank around 80 oz.

We'll see what happens tomorrow morning!

Lunch was Buffalo Chicken Breast, Salad, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner was Taco salad with lean hamburger, an orange and a grissini.

Sunday, April 6, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 17: VLCD-R2 Day 14

221.4 lbs (-1.2)

I didn't check my blood sugar this morning.

I lost another 1.2 lbs! It looks like I am off of my plateau.

Yesterday for lunch we had buffalo chicken breasts, salad, an apple and a grissini.
For dinner we had barbequed chicken breasts, salad, an apple and a grissini.

I have lost 33.2 lbs since the start of the VLCD.
Tammy has lost 27.2 lbs since the start of the VLCD.

Saturday, April 5, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 16: VLCD-2 Day 13

222.6 lbs (-2.8)

Fasting blood sugar: 80

Finally! I lost 2.8 lbs!

No cheating!

Yesterday I drank 58 ounces at work and then drank 48 ounces at home.

For lunch it was chicken, salad, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner was steak & onions, tomatoes, an orange and a grissini.

I will be much easier to not cheat today after losing 2.8 lbs!

I have lost a total of 29.8 lbs
Tammy has lost 25.8 lbs with no complications with her type 1 diabetes.

Friday, April 4, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 15: VLCD-R2 Day 12

225.4 lbs

I have not done well on Round 2 of the hCG/VLCD.

I have not lost any weight.

I have had a problem with cheating but also I have not consistenly drank the required amount of water.

The funny thing is, that yesterday I had several different people mention how much weight I had lost lately!

The scale says no loss, but my body has lost inches. Go figure.

I am going to really try to keep to the 500 calories and drink the required water today and this weekend!

Monday, March 31, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 11: VLCD-R2 Day 8

225.4 lbs (0.0)

Fasting blood sugar: 100

Sorry that I didn't post all weekend.

Tammy and I were working on our Business Taxes all weekend.
We also got 2 inches of snow on Saturday!

I didn't drink enough water this weekend and I did a little cheating too so not weight loss since Friday.

Lunch yesterday was Buffalo Chicken Breasts, salad, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner was Taco Salad. No fruit. No grissini.

Friday, March 28, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 8: VLCD-R2 Day 5

225.4 lbs (+0.8)

Not sure what happened other than I didn't drink quite as much water yesterday.
I drank over 2 liters, but not over 100 oz like I had the day before.

I'm still not feeling well and I am taking Nyquil and night and Dayquil during the day.

I didn't check my blood sugar this morning because I forgot to get a test strips refill.

Yesterday I ate:
Lunch=chicken, cucumbers, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner=beef, salad, and an orange.

I have been fairly hungry the first 4 days of the VLCD but I feel better today.
I wonder if the hCG from the last batch was losing it potency?
I mixed a new batch yesterday so I know this one is fresh.
With Tammy and I both on Phase 2 we are going through a batch in about 10 days.

She is doing really well and has had no problems with her blood sugars.

Thursday, March 27, 2008

hCG-R2 Day 7: VLCD-R2 Day 4/224.6 lbs (-1.2)

27.2 lbs lost since First Injection Date (1/13/08)
Fasting blood sugar: 116

It is so nice to be back on Phase 2!

I had to quickly mix up a new batch of hCG this morning.
With both Tammy and I on Phase 2 the hCG goes quick.

Yesterdays menu was:
Lunch=chicken, cucumbers, and orange and a grissini.
Dinner=fish, asparagus, an orange and a grissini.

I drank over 120 oz of water yesterday plus tea and coffee.
I think I was plenty hydrated!

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

HCG-R2 Day 6: VLCD-R2 Day 3/225.8 lbs (-0.8)

Fasting blood sugar: 110

Yesterday I stayed home sick from work.

I know that I am retaining water due to being sick and still lost 0.8 lbs.

Yesterday for lunch I had a hardboiled egg, 3 egg whites, cucumber, an apple and a grissini.
For dinner I had chicken cabbage and tomato stew, and an apple. We are out of grissinis.

I just barely drank enough water yesterday and probably should have had more due to being very sick.

I'm not feeling any better today but I came into work anyway.

Tuesday, March 25, 2008

HCG-R2 Day 5: VLCD-R2 Day 2/226.6 lbs

I am home sick today. Haven't checked my blood sugar.

I drank lots and lots of water yesterday.

It's nice to be hydrated!

For lunch I had a hard boiled egg and three egg whites, cucumbers, an orange and a grissini.
Dinner was taco salad, strawberries and a grissini.

Monday, March 24, 2008

HCG-R2 Day 4: VLCD-R2 Day 1/?

Fasting blood sugar: 116

First day back on the VLCD. Back to the daily posts!
I haven't had enough water for about a week!

I weighed myself this morning but I don't remember what it was.

I am not feeling well today.

I think that not sleeping well since Bob's stroke has finally caught up with me!

My blood sugars have been normal throughout Phase 3 and Phase 4.

I had blood tests done about half way through phase 2 and the all came back in the normal range. Sorry I didn't post about that earlier.
Very nice! I haven't seen the Dr. yet.

Phase 4: Last Day!

Happy Resurection Sunday!

This is my last day on break!

I started back on the HCG injections on Friday.

Hello VLCD!

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Phase 4: Day 2/229.0 lbs

I only drank about half of the water I should be drinking yesterday.

Only two more days until I start injections!

I am not really eating much different on Phase 4. At least so far!

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

Phase 4: Day 1/229.0 lbs

I drank more water yesterday, but it usually takes a couple of days to reverse the retaining water trend.

I will start with injectins on Friday.

I can't wait!

Monday, March 17, 2008

Phase 3: Day 21/229.0 lbs

I have only drank half of the required water for the last three days, so I know I am retaining water.

Today is the last day I am required to be on Phase 3 but Tammy gets home from visiting her father in Hawaii on Wednesday, and I'm going to wait until she gets home with her prepared bottle of HCG to start the injections.

I am really excited to start losing weight again!

Friday, March 14, 2008

Phase 3: Day 18/228.0 lbs

I ate dinner late last night and didn't drink enough water yesterday.

Tammy is in Hawaii visiting her father Bob who is in the hospital after suffering a stroke.

I am proud of her because she is still very commited to staying as faithful as possible to the VLCD.

She has lost about 20 lbs so far and is so excited to be doing this!

I can't wait to get back to Phase 2!

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

Phase 3: Day 16/226.4 lbs

Up a pound from the day before.

I didn't drink enough water yesterday and I had pizza for dinner!

I know, naughty naughty!

Yesterday was my brother Dan's birthday and I understand he had a little alcohol...

Ok. To be fair, he was on an airline flight and a drunk spilled it on him!

Happy Birthday Dan!

I had been trying to grow a full beard for a part in an Easter play that I will be performing in on March 23rd, but Tammy convinced me last night that the audience wouldn't be able to see the beard because it was too white!

So I shaved off the beard including my goatee and mustache!

It's the first time that I have been clean shaven since I was in the musical Snoopy in 1997!

Tammy couldn't believe how much Dan and I look alike.

She thought without facial hair and a bald head I looked like Mr. Clean!

I did think briefly about wearing all white to work today...

I think I look much younger this way. Tammy doesn't like it!

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Phase 3: Day 15/225.4 lbs

Down 0.4 lbs from yesterday, that's only 0.4 lbs over my LIW.

Another week until I can go back to Phase 2.

I can't wait to start losing again!

Monday, March 10, 2008

Phase 3: Day 14/225.8 lbs

I am back down to 225.8 lbs. Only 0.8 lbs over my LIW.

We took back the second scale on Saturday and bought a Taylor scale at Target.

I think the second scale was worse than the first.

The third scale seems to be more reliable.

I have been working very hard to drink enough water and have been successful so far.

My wife Tammy is doing very well on Phase 2!

Friday, March 7, 2008

Phase 3: Day 11/228.8 lbs

I hate our new scale! Once again this morning I weigh myself, relieve myself and re-weigh and I am heavier! It happened twice this morning!

This new scale is going back this weekend!

It's time to spend a little more money!

Last night Tammy baked shrimp and steamed broccoli.
It is nice being able to have cheese on phase 3.

March 18th is the day I will begin my second course of Phase 2 injections.
Only 10 days until Phase 2!

Thursday, March 6, 2008

Phase 3: Day 10/228.4 lbs

Has it only been 10 days?

Not even half way on Phase 3?

I drank plenty of water yesterday.

I had hard boiled eggs, cucumber and tomatoes, an orange and grissini for dinner last night.
About double the calories from a Phase 2 meal.

I thought I would be all excited about the Phase 3 food, but it is not as satisfying as I expected.

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

Phase 3: Day 9/229.0 lbs

I really need to work on drinking enough water.

It's funny the different mindset on Phase 3.

When I was on Phase 2, I thought about drinking enough water all day unless I was so busy working on something, but on Phase 3 it rarely even crosses my mind.

I even have a jug of water sitting at my desk.

My only saving grace is that my wife is on Phase 2 so she helps to remind me.

I can't wait for Phase 2!

Monday, March 3, 2008

Phase 3: Day 7/228.4 lbs

This has been a tough weekend with my Father-in-law having a stroke on Friday.

It's been tough drinking enough water and eating the right foods.

I feel pretty good about where my weight is right now.
I know that it will melt right away once this three week break is over.

My blood sugars have been good too! They haven't been over 104, which is amazing!

Looks like I really am over the diabetes! I will continue to monitor.

Next Saturday, I plan on going in for blood work to see what that looks like.

If you are interested in updates on Bob's condition, please visit www.bobkunz.com.
I will try to update it every day.

Friday, February 29, 2008

Phase 3 Day 6/229.0 lbs

I'm sorry I haven't been posting the last couple of days. My weight has been up and down.

I didn't drink enough water yesterday so I am retaining water.

My father in law is on vacation in Hawaii and had a stroke last night.

He is alive and in the hospital but does have brain damage.

I will keep posting!

PS: I hate Phase 3!

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

Phase 3: Day 1/226.4 lbs New Baseline

Yesterday was my third day of no injections but still on the VLCD.

I was very very hungry yesterday and had eaten my 500 calories by 2:00 pm.
I also worked very hard at a side job last night and when I got off I was very hungry so I stopped at a grocery store and picked up some turkey ham and cheddar cheese.

I was over 500 calories by probably double but I didn't care.

Today is my first day on Phase 3.

I had some scrambled eggs and ham for breakfast.
Lunch was chicken, an orange, cabbage and 2 grissinis.

With Tammy still on the VLCD, I will be mostly eating Phase 2 foods, just more of them.

Monday, February 25, 2008

VLCD Day 41/227.8 lbs New Scale/New Baseline

Today is my last day on the VLCD for this course.
Tomorrow will be my first day on Phase 3.

I have been fairly hungry for the last 5 days. I know it is possible that I have become immune.

That is why I stopped the injections on Saturday.

I am going to try to take a three week break and then start injections again.

I also took back my scale last night. The old one that I bought in December was very unreliable.
I'm not sure the new one is much better.
I might end up taking this one back as well.

My weight is 227.8 compared to my old scale which was 225. Who knows!

Sunday, February 24, 2008

VLCD Day 40/225.0 lbs (0) No Injection

This is the second VLCD Day after stopping the injections.

Lunch was chicken, cucumber, an ornage and a grissini.

Tammy and I had a Pampered Chef Show last night and didn't end up eating until after 10:00 pm.For dinner it was chicken, tomatoes and an orange. I forgot the grissini.T

he hunger was fine in the morning but after I ate lunch I was very hungry up until dinner time and then no hunger until I ate dinner and then very hungry!

Strange.

I don't trust my scale! Sometimes it acts like it gets stuck on a certain weight. Then if I reset it by holding something that weighs a couple of pounds and then reweigh without is I get a different reading. Sometimes I will get three different readings. I am going to try and take back the scale and get a better one. Buyer beware!

VLCD Day 39/225.0 lbs (0) No Injection

26.8 from my pre loading weight. 29.6 since starting the VLCD.

Fasting blood sugar was 99.

No injection today but I am still doing the VLCD for 3 days.

Chicken for lunch with cucumbers, an orange and a grissini.
Dinner was beef, salad, strawberries and a grissini.

Very hungry all day.

hCG Day 41: VLCD Day 38/225.0 lbs (0)

26.8 from my pre loading weight. 29.6 since starting the VLCD.

Fasting blood sugar was 90.

No loss again today.

Sorry for the late post.

I think today will be my last injection for this course of phase two.
I will do 3 more days of the VLCD but will begin phase three.
I was hungry all day yesterday. Today was better, but have been hungry since I ate lunch.

I have had 39 injections with only two skipped injections.

I'm a little sad. It's amazing how fast this first course was. I seems like I just started!

I am down to 225 lbs and have lost many inches all over my body! It is very nice.
I will continue to blog through phase three.

hCG Day 40: VLCD Day 37/225.0 lbs (0)

26.8 from my pre loading weight. 29.6 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 88.

No loss.

This is probably a combination of weighing myself 3 or 4 hours earlier than I have since last Friday and I also ate my vegetable at 9:30 pm last night.

I think I drank enough fluids.

I will make sure today.

Lunch was an incredible Chicken Cabbage Curry Soup, strawberries and a grissini.
Dinner was 1 whole hard boiled egg and 3 egg whites, cabbage, an orange and a grissini.

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

hCG Day 39: VLCD Day 36/225.0 lbs (-1.0)

26.8 from my pre loading weight. 29.6 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 99.

I cheated a little last night. Two handfuls of kettle corn.
I still lost a pound. Go figure!

Lunch was chicken, cucumber, strawberries and a grissini.
Dinner was baked chicken, cabbage, strawberries and a grissini.

Tammy and I are both taking a vacation day today and she is going to make curry for lunch today and I am going to make a modified version of the Lemon Oregano Whitefish Packet w/ Asparagus recipe that I got off of hgcrecipes.blogspot.com (link to the right!)

Renee has almost 100 different phase two recipes! She also has a phase 3 website.
Here is the link. http://phase3recipes.blogspot.com/

Some of her recipes call for Stevia or Flavored Stevia which is a zero calorie sweetener that is an herb not a chemical. I got some and it is really good. She also calls for Bragg Liquid Aminos which is kind of like soy sauce. It is also zero calorie.

hCG Day 38: VLCD Day 35/226.0 lbs (-1.0)

25.8 from my pre loading weight. 28.6 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 101.

Phase 3 is fast approaching.
I would like to get to 220 before I go on phase 3.
That's 6 more pounds. I think I'm going for it!

I do not want to become immune. 6 weeks would be a long time away from losing weight.

It will be interesting to see what my blood sugars do on phase 3.

For lunch it was chicken, cucumber, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner I had shrimp, salad, strawberries and a grissini.

Monday, February 18, 2008

hCG Day 37: VLCD Day 34/227.0 lbs (-1.0)

24.8 from my pre loading weight. 27.6 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 102.

A little hunger yesterday, but not too bad. No headaches.

Sorry for the late post today. I was off of work but I had a side job that I did that took most of the day.

I went to Value Village and bought 4 pairs of slacks for about $14.
I needed to get some slacks for work that fit.
I had been wearing pants with a waist of 42 and I am down to a 36. They're a little tight, but that won't last for long!

For lunch I had chicken, cucumber, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner it was steak, salad, an apple and a grissini.

Tonight Tammy made shrimp for dinner and it was delicious! She marinated it in lemon juice with PC Dill Mix, Cajun Seasoning, and pressed garlic. She then baked it on a stone in the oven.
She topped that off with a salad, strawberries and a grissini.

Tammy has decided to feed everyone what I am eating and just add to it for those not on the VLCD. Tonight the kids had shrimp, pasta, and salad. It is kind of nice to eat with the family and eat most of the same things they are eating. Makes me feel less like an outsider I guess.

My good friend Mike Blake at church started taking injections and loading yesterday. He really wants to join the US Army and just can't seem to lose the weight. He's very excited to get started losing!

hGC Day 36: VLCD Day 33/ 228.0 lbs (-0.8)

23.8 from my pre loading weight. 26.6 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 99.

Any loss is a loss!

I did inject yesterday. I decided that I am close enough to the end of this course that it won't matter and I would realy rather not deal with hunger.

I was a little hungry between meals yesterday. No headaches.

Yesterday for lunch was chicken, cabbage, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner I had baked cod, a salad, strawberries and a grissini.

I marinated the cod for an hour in lemon juice, pressed garlic, the PC Dill Mix, salt and pepper and then baked it. It was incredible!

I'm trying different recipes. The link to the right titled "Amazing hCG Recipes" has some wonderful ideas that I can't wait to try.

Last night was a cooking night and so I decided to bake up some chicken.

It turned out pretty good!

Saturday, February 16, 2008

hCG Day 35: VLCD Day 32/228.8 lbs (0)

23.0 from my pre loading weight. 25.8 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 104.

Another day with zero loss. I had a side job last night that was very exhausting so I am probably retaining water.

I was very hungry when I got home last night from working! I had a couple of strawberries and a little steak.

For lunch I had chicken, cucumber, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner it was chicken, cucumber and an orange.

I am going to work very hard this weekend to make sure I drink enough water which has been my downfall on the weekends.

Friday, February 15, 2008

hCG Day 34: VLCD Day 31/228.8 lbs (0)

23.0 from my pre loading weight. 25.8 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 102.

Another day of no loss, which is pretty good because I was a bad boy yesterday!

I took Tammy out to dinner at Cartwright's American Broiler in Mukilteo last night for Valentine's day and went a little over my calorie limit! (Major Understatement!)

My blood sugar was only 102 which is very good considering the fact that I had a normal sized meal last night.

Back on the protocol today!

Thursday, February 14, 2008

hCG Day 33: VLCD Day 30/228.8 lbs (0)

23.0 from my pre loading weight. 25.8 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 105.

No loss today.

I am still fighting this cold or whatever so I'm sure I have retained some water.

I did have hunger yesterday. I ate my lunch early and had two fruits for dinner instead of a fruit and a vegetable.

I have tenatively decided to go to 50 days which will mean 43 injections and then I will take a 4 week break.

I am doing this to get on a schedule that will coincide with someone who is very close to me who began injections yesterday. It would benifit both of us to be on the same schedule.

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

hCG Day 32: VLCD Day 29/228.8 lbs (-1.0)

23.0 from my pre loading weight. 25.8 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 85.

No hunger. No headaches.

I was home sick yesterday. I didn't eat extra protien yesterday, but I did eat egg for my lunch protien.

The egg was a nice change. I wouldn't want to do it all the time, but it was great to have when I had an upset stomach.

For lunch I had one hardboiled egg and 3 egg whites, cucumber, strawberries and a grissini.
For dinner I had cod, asparagus, strawberries and a grissini.

I am feeling much better today. Not 100%, but a marked improvement over the last few days.

Monday, February 11, 2008

hCG Day 31: VLCD Day 28/229.8 lbs (-1.6)

22.0 from my pre loading weight. 24.8 since starting the VLCD.

Fasting blood sugar was 79.

Sorry for the late post. I am home sick today.

Yesterday was pretty good as far as hunger and headaches.

I did end up going home from work sick.
I felt very week all day even after lunch so I had some extra protien in the form of a hard boiled egg and 3 egg whites.

For lunch it was chicken, cucumbers, an apple and a grissini.
For strength I had 1 hard boiled egg and 3 egg whites.
For dinner I had a chicken salad, and a grissini. I just relized that I did not eat my fruit for last night.

hCG Day 30: VLCD Day 27/231.4 lbs (-0)

So ok, I didn't post yesterday.

I was at a Junior High Sleep Over with On Purpose the Junior High Youth Ministry that I lead, and I didn't bring my scale.

I did all of the cooking for the evening and morning.

For dinner I made grilled hotdogs and chili and did not cheat!
We had each youth bring a bag of chips and I did not cheat!
We had pop, italian sodas and icecream and I did not cheat!
We had popcorn and I did cheat a little!
For breakfast I made pancakes and french toast and I did not cheat!
We also had orange juice and hot chocolate and I did not cheat!

Then last night Tammy and I did a Pampered Chef Power Cooking Show where we show guests how to prepare 3 meals in under an hour, one to eat and two to freeze.

We had a lot of fun and made Easy Beef Stroganoff, Italian Beef Hoagies and Barbecue Beef Sloppy Joes.

We served all three meals to our guests and they thought that they were all delicious!

I did cheat a little and tasted the Barbecue Beef Sloppy Joe mixture.

Everything smelled very good and overall I feel like I did pretty good for the weekend.

I did not do well drinking water either Saturday or Sunday.

I did not take my injection on Saturday, not on purpose, but Kari and James had a singing competition on Saturday morning and I just didn't think of taking my shot before we left.

I had planned on skipping a shot on Sunday so decided to skip days instead.
I have no problems with hunger, which was good.

Saturday for lunch I had chicken, cucumbers, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner I had beef steak, cucumbers, an orange and a grissini.

Sunday for lunch I had chicken, cucumbers, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner I had beef steak, a fresh spinach salad, an apple and a grissini.

Saturday, February 9, 2008

hCG Day 28: VLCD Day 25/231.4 lbs (-1.4)

20.4 from my pre loading weight. 23.2 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 85.

No hunger. No headaches. Plenty of water.

I'll post more later.

Friday, February 8, 2008

hCG Day 27: VLCD Day 24/232.8 lbs (-1.0)

19.0 from my pre loading weight. 21.8 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 83.

No hunger. No headaches. Plenty of water.

For lunch I had steak, cucumber, an a small grapefruit and a grissini.
Dinner was cod, asparagus, an orange and a grissini.

Last night was a cooking night.
I cooked up 12 batches of chicken and 5 patches of steak.
I seasoned half the chicken with a Chipotle seasoning that all natural and has only spices that are acceptable on the protocol and half with an acceptable Asian seasoning.
The beef I used an acceptable Cajun seasoning.

Thursday, February 7, 2008

hCG Day 26: VLCD Day 23/233.8 lbs (-0.4)

18.0 from my pre loading weight. 20.8 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 81.

Hunger wasn't too bad yesterday. No headaches.

Just a small loss, but I will take any loss!

For lunch I had chicken, cucumbers, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner it was shrimp, asparagus, an orange and a grissini.

My brother Dan is looking for some recipe and seasoning suggestions to add variety to his meals.
I will be posting more on that later.

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

hCG Day 25: VLCD Day 22/234.2 lbs (-1.6)

17.6 from my pre loading weight. 20.4 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 104.

Only had a slight headache in the afternoon.
Hunger not too bad.

I have switched to using a 1/2 cc syringe with a 1/2 inch needle which is really nice.

Lunch was chicken, cucumber, an orange and a grissini.
Dinner was shrimp, asaragus, an orange and a grissini.

I have been walking about a mile each afternoon.
I take the train to and from Seattle and then take a bus to Tukwila.
In the afternoon, the bus from Tukwilla drops me at 4th and University and usually I would walk down to 3rd Avenue and catch a second bus back south to the train station.
Friday I decided to try walking and see if I was still able to catch the first train.
I ended up beating the bus that I usually take!
So I have been walking each afternoon.

I won't walk if it is raining or if my Father in Law rides the train since there is no way he could walk fast enough to make it in time.

hCG Day 24: VLCD Day 21/235.8 lbs (0)

16.0 from my pre loading weight. 18.8 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 87.

No weight loss again.

Still probably paying for cheating on Sunday and not enough fluids.

Hunger was ok and no headaches.

Lunch was chicken, cucumber, an orange and a grissini.
Dinner was chicken, tomatoes, an apple and a grissini.

No cheating today even though I went to the movies last night!
I love the smell of movie popcorn!

I have a headache today but not too bad.

I am definately losing inches.
I've lost 3 inches off my belly (At the Navel) and 2 inches of my chest (At the Nipples).

I was able to fit into a suit that I haven't been able to wear for a couple of years!

Monday, February 4, 2008

hCG Day 23: VLCD Day 20/235.8 lbs (0)

16.0 from my pre loading weight. 18.8 since starting the VLCD.

Fasting blood sugar was 90.

Ok. I cheated at the Super Bowl party I went to.

I had some extra chicken (meat only, no skin no fat)

The worst thing I had was about 10 little smokies! (lots of fat and sugar in the sauce!)

I did avoid all of the chips, bread, and dairy though!

I also did not do well drinking my water.

It was the first day I had not taken an injection of hCG and I was pretty hungry all day.

I will try again to not inject next Sunday and if it does not go well, I will just keep going until I become immune and then take a break of 6 weeks.

Sunday, February 3, 2008

hCG Day 22: VLCD Day 19/235.8 lbs (-0.8)

16.0 from my pre loading weight. 18.8 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 96.

Yesterday was pretty good as far as hunger and headaches go.
I could have had more water in the afternoon.

Lunch was chicken, tomatoes, an orange and a grissini.
Dinner was steak, cabbage stew, and orange and a grassini.

Today we are going to a Super Bowl party and it will be my biggest test so far.

Last night I mixed up a fresh batch of hCG.
I mixed it with only half the bacteriostatic water so that I can use the 1/2 cc syringes which have a smaller needle.

Saturday, February 2, 2008

hCG Day 21: VLCD Day 18: 236.4 lbs (-1.2)

15.4 from my pre loading weight. 18.2 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 92.

Pretty good day, no hunger until the late evening and no headaches.

Lunch was chicken, tomatoes, an orange and a grissini.
Dinner was shrimp, asparagus, an apple and a grissini.
I bought 4 boxes of grissini's last night!

I'll post more later.

Friday, February 1, 2008

hCG Day 20: VLCD Day 17/237.6 (-0.8)

14.2 from my pre loading weight. 17.0 since starting the VLCD.

Fasting blood sugar was 94.

Still no hunger problems and no headaches.

I figured something out yesterday.

I usually drink 90% of my water/fluids during the day and the rest in the evening.
I think part of what has been happening is that I haven't been drinking enough with my dinner and in the evenings.

Yesterday for lunch I had chicken, celery, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner cod, asparagus, an orange. Tammy bought what she thought were grissini's but they were not. I will pick some up tonight.

Thursday, January 31, 2008

hCG Day 19: VLCD Day 16/238.4 lbs (-0.6)

13.4 from my pre loading weight. 16.2 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 88.

Any loss is a good loss!

Lunch was chicken, celery, a grapefruit and a grissini.
Dinner was 97% lean ground beef cooked with onions and garlic (delicious! Thanks Tammy!), cabbage and an orange. I ran out of grissini breadsticks at home.

No hunger and no headachs.

I am not worried about plateaus or small losses. I know that I am not cheating or doing other things that would cause true weight gain.

I'm not sure why I am retaining water, but it doesn't really matter as long as I stay on the protocol and am not getting hungry.

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

HCG Day 18: VLCD Day 15/239.0 (0) AGAIN!

Second day in a row of no weight loss.
Fasting blood sugar was 91.

I have had 4 out of the last 6 days with no weight loss.
The only thing that has changed is that I have gone off caffeine.
I am going back to caffeine.
I had my first Americano this morning and it was delicious!

I just checked my blood sugar at 9:50 am and it is 80 on the low side of normal.

I will continue drinking as much water as I can and keep on keepin' on.
I am not overly concerned. This mini plateau will not deter me from continuing on!
I have considered my ways and I am not using any lotions or anything that would be providing fat to my body.
I am not cheating on the food.
I am drinking enough fluids.
I will not dispair!

My goal is not just to lose weight but to lose size!
I know the HCG is working because I am not getting hungry.

Tuesday, January 29, 2008

HCG Day 17: VLCD Day 14/239.0 lbs (0)

Once again, no weight loss today.
My fasting blood sugar was 91.

I think that I have figured out at least part of why.

On all of the days that I have not lost weight, I have drunk just the minimum of fluids (64 oz).
On all other days I have had more than 80 oz of fluids.
I also had been taking a diabetic medicine Metformin which causes diarrhea.
When I started the VLCD I stopped taking Metformin which has probably firmed me up quite a bit.
I have also been abstaining from caffeine which is a diuretic.

All of this may be combining to cause me to retain water.

I'm not real worried about it. I am still doing the VLCD and not feeling hungry, so I know its working.

I will just keep plodding along! (I have already had 48 oz of water today and 2 16oz cups of decaf tea!)

For lunch I had chicken (the last portion from my last cooking day), celery, a grapefruit and a grissini.
For dinner my wife made me a beef stew with cabbage, celery, onion and tomatoes. It was incredible. I also had strawberries and a grissini. All within the 500 calorie limit.

Last night I cooked up 10 fresh batches of chicken. I realized that last time I cooked up the chicken, I weighed it while it was frozen which means that I wasn't getting a full 100 grams of meat when I ate chicken. I was ok with the steak because I weighed it raw and unfrozen.

Monday, January 28, 2008

HCG Day 16: VLCD Day 13 / 239.0 lbs (-1.0)

12.8 from my pre loading weight. 15.6 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 94.

Yesterday was a good day for hunger and and headaches.

I worked very hard yesterday from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm which my body is not used to.

I was able to drink enough fluids.

Still not drinking any caffeine and about the only difference I have noted is that I am sleeping better!

For lunch I had chicken, a grapefruit, a salad and a grissini.
For the salad I used no dressing or anything but I did cut up my chicken and put it on top. It was great!
For dinner I had stir fried beef (no oil), celery, onion, red pepper, an orange and a grissini.
All for only 500.4 calories!

Sunday, January 27, 2008

HCG Day 15: VLCD Day 12/240.0 lbs (0)

No weight loss again today.
Fasting blood sugar 94.

I worked very hard yesterday and didn't drink all of the water I should.

I will work extra hard today to drink the water.

Lunch was chicken, grapefruit, celery and a grissini.
Dinner was shrimp, an orange and a grissini.

I just realized that I never ate my vegetable for dinner last night.

Hunger was fine all day.

Saturday, January 26, 2008

HCG Day 14: VLCD Day 11/240.0 lbs (-2.0)

11.8 from my pre loading weight. 14.6 since starting the VLCD.
Fasting blood sugar was 90.

I lost nothing yesterday and lost two pounds today, go figure!

Hunger was good today. Drank plenty of fluids. Did no caffeine. Headaches were few.

For lunch I had chicken, celery, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner it was shrimp, asparagus, strawberries and a grissini.

I am trying to use different spices to liven up my meat choices.

I wil be working all day so Sunday will have to be my cooking day.

Friday, January 25, 2008

HCG Day 13: VLCD Day 10/242.0 lbs (0)

No change from yesterdays weigh-in.
Fasting blood sugar was 92.

I didn't drink as much yesterday as I have been drinking.
And no caffeine. I have a headache this morning, probably from no caffeine.

Lunch was beef, celery, an orange and a grissini.
Dinner was shrimp, asparagus, an orange and a grissini.

I was hungrier yesterday than usual.

I also did some work last night that was very exhausting which I have not done since being on the protocol.

I didn't feel too bad but Tammy said I looked exhausted.

Thursday, January 24, 2008

HCG Day 12: VLCD Day 9/242.0 lbs (-1.0)

9.8 lbs from my pre loading weight. 12.6 lbs since starting the VLCD.
My fasting blood sugar was 100.

Yesterday after adding a new hole to my belt because it was too big, the slacks I had on were too big and the button kept coming undone all day!
Bummer, guess those pants will join the "Salvation Army" pile!

I'm looking forward to the "thinning of the herd" in my closets. I have been wearing 2X shirts and was up to wearing 42 X 30 pants.

Lunch yesterday was beef, tomatoes, an apple and a grissini.
Dinner was Cod, a Romaine Lettuce Salad, an apple and a grissini.

I am going to go caffine free today and see how that helps my weight loss.

Update: I have had no caffine today and I have been lacking in energy. We'll see in the morning if it pays off!

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

HCG Day 11: 8th Day of VLCD/ 243.0 lbs (-0.8)

8.8 lbs from my pre loading weight. 11.6 lbs since starting the VLCD.
My fasting blood sugar was 99.

Yesterday was my worst day for hunger but still not bad.

Ended up eating an extra orange late because my blood sugar was low.
My calories for the day were still around 500.

For lunch I had chicken, cucumber, an orange and a grissini.
For dinner I had chicken, a Romaine Lettuce Salad, a small grapefruit, an orange and a grissini.
I drank 3 - 16 oz cups of coffee, 2 - 16 oz cups of green tea and 2.5 liters of water.

My family had dinner with my Dad and Step Mom last night.
Lasagna. Garlic Cheese Bread. Ceasar Salad.
It was kind of funny with my little peice of chicken on my plate and my salad in my salad bowl.

It sure smelled good, but I wasn't really tempted.
I am going to be to a normal weight for my 48th birthday on May 29th!
Sounds pretty good to me!

I almost for got! I wanted to tell you that I had to drill a new hole in my belt this morning because it was too big! Yesterday my pants were just too loose!

Monday, January 21, 2008

HCG Day 10: 7th Day of VLCD/243.8 (-0.2)

8.0 lbs from my pre loading weight. 10.8 lbs since starting the VLCD.
My fasting blood sugar was 104.

Not much weight lost. Maybe because I didn't weigh in yesterday until 10:30 am.
Yesterday I drank coffee all day and drank water all evening, but I don't think I drank enough.
Lunch was chicken, cucumber, apple and a grissini.
For dinner my sister Karin and brother Nolan came over and I wanted Karin to try the cod, so I cooked a cod steak and let her taste it and ate the rest for my dinner protein.
I followed that with a romaine lettuce salad, an orange and a grissini.

No hunger and I think the headaches might be gone!

Karin and Nolan came over so that Nolan could show Karin how to mix the HCG and prepare for injections. I got to give Karin her first injection and she was very excited that it didn't hurt her at all! She will start loading tonight.

We just sat and talked about the protocol for a long time. It was great!

Nolan is a great source of information and experience and a great encouragement!

I am so excited that I am on this journey with my brothers Nolan and Dan, my sister Karin and Dan's brother in law Van!

HCG Day 9: 6th Day of VLCD/244.0 lbs (-1.8)

7.8 lbs from my pre loading weight. 10.6 lbs since starting the VLCD.
My fasting blood sugar was 85, which is a little low, but I didn't check it until 11:30 am.

I slept in 'til 10:30 am this morning (MLK Jr Birthday) and then my neighbor stopped by and we had a cup of coffee so I didn't check my blood sugar or take my HCG injection until an hour later.

Yesterday was pretty good. No hunger and no headaches.

Chicken, cucumber, apple and a grissini for lunch and Cube steak (Plain), romain lettuce salad, orange and a grissini for dinner. I did go 40 calories over yesterday due to a very large and delicious apple!

Sunday, January 20, 2008

HCG Day 8: 5th Day of VLCD/245.8 lbs (-1.4)

6.0 lbs from my preloading weight. 8.8 lbs since starting the VLCD.
My fasting blood sugar was 105 which is very good because for dinner I had cod, a salad and a grissini. I just realized that I forgot to eat my fruit for dinner last night! That's a bummer because I was hungry last night and could have eaten it! I drank green tea instead.

Yesterday I went to lunch with my best friend Jim at Patty's Eggnest one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. I had a spinach salad with cucumber, tomato, chicken and a hard boiled egg. I asked them to hold the olives, cheese and dressing. I know lunch was more than likely over 250 calories, but not bad for eating at a restaurant. Also, I still lost 1.4 lbs!

I'll write more later...

The Importance of Support!

I read in other blogs people doing the Simeon's protocol with no support other than people in the online groups. Even though I love the online groups, that would be so hard.

I am so blessed to have seen my brother Nolan lose over 50 lbs using this protocol!

I am blessed to have my wonderful wife Tammy and all of my four children be supportive and encouraging as I start!

Also, having my brother Dan and sister Karin doing the proceedure at the same time is very encouraging!

HCG Day 7: 4th Day of VLCD/247.2 (-0.8)

4.6 lbs from my preloading weight. 7.4 lbs since starting the VLCD.
Under one pound loss but still a loss.
I did drink about 32 oz of liquids after 7:00 pm last night. (Green Tea and water)
My fasting blood sugar today was 113. Haven't taken my diabetic meds since the last day of loading. The lowest my blood sugar yesterday was 90.

I started eating both my my lunch and dinner earlier in the day yesterday and never did eat my fruit for dinner. I ended up with only 386 calories for the day. Not on purpose. I just didn't feel like eating the fruit.

For lunch I had chicken, an orange, small tomatoes and a grissini.
For dinner I had chicken, a cucumber and a grissini.

I did pretty good on drinking liquids.
Still had a headach, but it was better for most of the day.

Today I am going to lunch with my best friend Jim. I am just planning to eat a salad so we'll see.

The hard part for me on the weekend is drinking enough fluids!

Tonight will be a cooking night! I want to prepare enough chicken and beef for the whole week not including the weekend. That way when I get home from work I can eat right away if I need to and I don't have to worry about meat for lunches. I will still portion the vegetables each evening for lunch because they don't keep as well!

I am attempting to set myself up for success.

HCG Day 6: 3rd Day of VLCD/248.0 lbs (-2.4)

3.8 lbs under my preloading weight. 5.4 lbs since starting the VLCD.
My fasting blood sugar this morning was 117 without taking any of my diabetic meds the since Tuesday. Yesterday my blood sugar was at 101 most of the day and then dropped to 70 in the afternoon right before dinner but I never felt like it was low.

Last night for dinner I had some of the chicken I cooked up Wednesday night. It was really good, maybe a little hot due to the chile powder but it had nice flavor.
I rounded my meal out with an apple, cucumber and a grissini. I ended up with only 448 calories for the day. Very little hunger. I drank less coffee and tea and about 3 liters of water.

Today I still have a headach, but its not as bad as it has been. I brought more of the chicken for lunch along with an orange and some tomato's. I already have a box of grissini's at work so they don't get crushed, broken or mushy in transit. I take the train to work on most days.

Yesterday my department at work had a meeting and our supervisor brought lots of cookies and candies and I was not tempted at all. I just sat there and thought that if this meeting had been just a week ago I would have eaten lots of junk!

Last night my son James and I worked a concession stand during Preview Night of the Kamiak High School Winter Play. Lots of Pop, Candy, Cookies, Chips and was not tempted.

James is very supportive of my diet so he brought a thermos filled with hot water, green tea and travel cups so that I would have something to drink other than water! James is 15 years old.
Pretty awesome!

Blood Sugars

Yesterday my starting blood sugar was 116 which is within the normal range.

100 is normal.

I didn't take my diabetes medicine in the morning because I didn't want to have a problem with low blood sugar. I took the medicine with me just in case.

At 10:30 am my blood sugar was at 105, still good.
At 2:30 pm I could tell that it was a little low so I checked it and it was 85, which is a little low.
I checked it again at 4:30 pm and it was 81 so I got a cup of coffee at Seattle's Best Coffee Company with a tablespoon of milk.
I know, not much but it never seemed to drop any lower.
I had a small candy bar in my laptop bag but I didn't want to eat it unless I had to. I need to find something that is basically just sugar to carry with me just in case.

I got home at about 6:00 pm and ate dinner and was fine after that.

My fasting blood sugar was 101 this morning which is really good!

HCG Day 5: 2nd Day on VLCD/250.4 lbs (- 4.2)

1.2 pounds below my first loading day weight!
I don't know how much of that is water, but I have been drinking quite a bit of water lately so it can't be that much.
I did drink a lot of water, coffee and tea yesterday. (Over100 oz)

When I got home I was pretty hungry so I ate the apple from my ready meal and a "fresh" Grissini.
(Remind me never to put the Grissini in a zip lock bag with the rest of a meal. I found out at lunch that it turns soft!)

I decided to try the cod I bought at Costco for dinner last night.
It was incredible! I cooked it in lemon juice and Pampered Chef's Dill Seasoning.
It was so good I can't wait to have it again.
It comes with each 4 oz. steak individually wrapped and only 27 calories per ounce! (That's what the package said!)
I rounded out my meal with celery. That really filled me up!

Later, I weighed out 3 servings of chicken tenders and grilled them with some garlic and chile powder, let them cool and stored them in zip lock bags for future meals.

I didn't do too bad with hunger yesterday.
I just drank coffee and water until about 10:30 am when I ate my apple.
I ate my grissini at about 12:00 pm, the beef at about 1:00 pm and the cucumber at about 2:00 pm.

I did get a pretty good headache after work which has stayed with me through the night.
I haven't taken anything for it yet, but I will later if it doesn't get any better.

My brother Dan in Cocoa Florida started taking Sublingual HCG.
His brother in law Van in Vancouver Washington is on his second week taking injections.
I believe my brother Nolan is on his third series of shots.
My sister Karin is going to start with injections within a week or so.

It's great to be starting with the encouragement and support of family and friends!

HCG Day 4: 1st Day of VLCD/254.6 lbs (+1.2)

254.6 lbs is my new baseline.
My morning bloodsugar measurement was 116 within the normal range.
HCG injection on the right side of my spare tire. Felt a pin prick, but not bad.
I did alot better at loading yesterday. I'm glad that's over. For now.
I've been nervous about starting the VLCD. I don't know why.
I'm just glad to be finally starting it.
I cooked my premeasured beef last night using a fresh clove of garlic (pressed) and fresh ground pepper. I haven't tasted it yet but it sure smelled good!
I decided to slice the beef up and cook it in a frying pan at medium temperature.
There was very little fat so I had to add a little water.
I actually cooked up two batches of beef because I wanted to prepare one 250 calorie meal and have it sitting in the fridge.
That way if my family decides to go out to dinner or we have dinner at someone elses house or whatever, I already have a meal prepared and ready to go.
Less reasons to miss the mark.
Then if I don't need it, I will take it for lunch the next day.
I am planning to prepare two meals each evening. One for dinner and one to replace the ready meal in the fridge that I will take for lunch the next day.
We'll see how that goes.
Today for lunch I will have beef, cucumber, apple and a Grissini breadstick. 242 calories.
My brother saved me from Melba Toast by letting me know where to find them in my area.
I remember eating them when we were kids, pretending they were cigars!
I tried one last night and they were as good as I remembered!
I wasn't looking forward to the Melba Toast, but I might be before this VLCD is done!

HCG Day 3: Third Day of Loading/253.4 lbs (-1.0)

Down a pound today. Probably water loss. I drank a lot of water yesterday compared to very little on Sunday.
Third day of HCG injection and loading. Third day of not enjoying loading.
Injection in the right thigh with no pain.
I think the thing I will miss most on the VLCD is not having a latte in the moring!
I went out and bought ten pounds of very lean round steak on Saturday.
Tammy and I cut it up in 3.5 oz steaks and put it in zip lock storage bags for individual freezing.
I am going to do the same tonight with chicken breats.
I need to get Melba Toast and more vegetables before tomorrow.

My Experience with the Prism Diet.

In September of 1997, my wife Tammy and I joined a weight loss group at our church that was starting the Prism diet.
The Prism diet involves a reduced calorie intake of 1000 for women and 1500 for men and 8 - 8 oz glasses of water each day.
I was at 235 when I started and ended up losing 45 pounds.
I went off the diet when I started a new job. My wife lost about the same.
The diet is restricted to eliminate most starches and carbs. No potatoes, no food made with white flour and no sugar.
We found it enjoyable and very successful.
Our church is about to start up another Prism group but I thought I would give HCG a try first.

HCG Day 2: Second day of loading/254.4 lbs (+2.6)

Picked up some one cc syringes from my brother Nolan, who has lost over 59 lbs since September 10, 2007.
He uses the 1/2 cc syringes so we'll just make a trade.
Nolan told me that he cut the amount of Bacteriostatic water in half so that he could use the 1/2 cc syringe.
I think I may do that on the second course of HCG.

Still not enjoying loading, but I am trying to eat the foods I enjoy that I will not be able to eat for quite a while.

I prefilled the syringe last night and left it out so that it could warm to room temperature before the injection.
I gave the injection in my left thigh with no pain.
Didn't do very well drinking water yesterday so I'm making sure I drink enough to get in the habit.

HCG Day 1: First Injection and Loading/251.8 lbs

I actually started my HCG injections and loading yesterday but did not have time to create this blog.
I weighed in at 251.8 lbs.
I found out that I am not very good at loading!
I'll try harder today.

I mixed my first batch of HGC on Saturday night in preperation for starting injections in the morning.
I used a 1/2 CC syringe for my injections, which was all I had, so I had to give two injections.
Bummer!
One in the stomach and one in the right thigh.
No pain in the thigh and just a little burn in the stomach.
